Daddy's Girl
It had been a beautiful Spring day, May 4, 2004. My brother, Momma,& myself had gotten in late that night when we had the call that would change my life forever. I could sense that something was wrong Momma's voice. Then the words I feared came from her mouth, I fell to the floor crying & screaming. They had found our Daddy, he was no longer alive. At the young age of 34 he left behind a daughter & 2 sons. Every memory I had of us came flooding back to me, both happy & sad.
My parents had divorced when I was 7 years old. It was a bad divorce, drugs and alcohol were a factor. I had a lot of hatred toward my Daddy for leaving us for a long time, although we always had a good relationship. Good people make bad mistakes, right? He had popped in and out of our life when we were growing up, i just got use to it. I battled with this hatred all the way up to my senior year in highschool. When that one phone call turned my world upside down my perspective changed. I soon realized it was mostly saddness that I felt during those years of uncertiny. I regret those years I did not get to have him in my life. Children need stability, reassurance,& guidance from both parents.
Everything happens for a reason, only God knows why. Because of my past I am a stronger person, a better mother to my children & I love like there is no tomorrow. I will never have all the answers to this puzzle. I do know even though we may have sat on the front porch waiting for him and he never showed up sometime...he loved his children. We all make mistakes...that will never stop me from being a Daddy's Girl.

Juicing Day 1
Day 1 of Juicing was very difficult, no joke. When I woke up I had my hot lemon water, and fixed the carrot, apple & lemon juice. Mid-morning I had a headache and had to lay down. I drank LOTS of water all day, it seemed to take the headache away. For lunch I had a mean green found on the same "Reboot with Joe" pdf file on the link above. The rest of the afternoon I felt a lot better. My body was obviously going through the first stages of detox. I am a heavy coffee drinker, sometimes 2-3 cups daily.
Dinner: 1 apple
3 cups of a leafy green (spinach)
1 beet (peeled)
1/2 cucumber
1 lemon slice
I could only drink half of this! After, I made a smoothie from frozen blueberries, strawberries & a cup of vanilla almond milk. I plan to start moderate exercise in a few days-wish me luck! I will weigh myself everyday through this 5 day cleanse. Good Luck!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season full of family, love,& food!
I am glad to see it come and go. With a new year comes new things, my new adventure is juicing! I've been doing a lot of research. I've found that the benefits are worth trying it out! I will be posting daily about the fast and trying new recipes. I cannot wait to start this diet...I hate dieting by the way! My goal is to juice for 15 days straight, and we may take it to 30 depending on how I feel. Please feel free to leave comments or questions about your experience!
Also with the New Year I will be making changes to the blog. My goal is to mix my love of cooking, sewing,& our adventures of homeschool. I am starting basic sewing series next week, so have those machines ready! Each week we will start a new series of sewing skills, maybe I will gather the courage to attempt video tutorials?!:)Thank you all for reading my blog and being patient as I start this journey all over again. Blessings to you all!
